LASC earns hardware at Linn Creek, Western Zone shoots
The Lathrop Area Shooting Club continues to roll.
The squad was well represented at the Paul Larson Memorial High School Shoot on Saturday, May 6, in Linn Creek, MO. The team of Hunter Darr, Bubba Darr, Cody Gallagher, David Harris and Ashley Osborne tied for third place in the FFA Division, and Gallagher tied for the top spot individually in the freshman division.
Additionally, three members of LASC shot that day for Kearney High School, winning first place in the Ladies Division. Also, of note, Landon Bragg shot a personal best 88, T.J. Hudlemeyer blew past a series of milestones by earning his 25-, 50- and 75- straight patches in one day, and Andrew Stone received a patch for shooting 50 straight.
The following day, the club took part in the KCTA 2017 Western Zone Shoot, Cody Gallagher was the Handicap champion, Double Sub Jr. Champion, and Singles Sub Jr. runner-up. Bubba Darr was the Singles Class C champion and Handicap 22-24 Champion, David Harris was the Handicap 18-21 champion, and Andrew Stone was the Singles Sub. Jr champion. Club President and assistant Coach Habe Darr won the Class D Doubles championship.
The Lathrop Area Shooting Club consists of members from Lathrop, Plattsburgh, Smithville, Kearney and other communities. The club is coached by Scott Gallagher and Have Darr.

Lathrop shooters dominating this spring
The Lathrop Area Shooting Club (LASC) – comprised of competitive shooters from Lathrop, Plattsburg, Smithville, Polo, Lawson and Kearney – have put together a dominant spring, winning trophy after trophy.
The club opened the season by winning five-consecutive high overall honors at Spring Break’em events headed into the 23rd Kansas City Trapshooters Association Spring Classic this past Sunday, April 23, in Smithville. At the Spring Classic, LASC’s Ardvark Team – comprised of Hunter Darr, Bubba Darr, Cody Gallagher, David Harris and Isaac Lawrence – won high overall squad on the day, and the club’s first all-girl team – comprised of Arizona Gallagher, Lacey Williams, Brenda Blodgett, Madison Peisert and Allison Darling – shot their way to first place in the ladies division.
Isaac Lawrence was the top high school shooter on the day, Andrew Stone was the top junior high shooter. Lacey Williams was the top shooter in the ladies division.
Prior to the KCTA Spring Classic, the LASC won events in Macon, Lancaster, Lee’s Summit, Columbia and Prairie Grove.
Showing how dominant the LASC has been this season, the club won the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) Virtual Series National Tournament this spring. The club sent in their scores for six weeks, winning the event – which included more than 650 other shooters – with a score of 738 out of 750.
The LASC has grown to 25 participants this year. Members include Hunter Darr, Bubba Darr, Cody Gallagher, David Harris, Tyler Stanford, Andrew Stone, Caleb Marler, Lacey Williams, Bobby Parshall, Brenda Blodgett, Ashley Osborne, Landon Bragg, Matthew Sparling, Payton Cantrell, Avery McNutt, Garrett Owings, Will Lile, TJ Hundlemeyer, Tristan Christopher, Arizona Gallagher, Allison Darling, Madison Peisert, Mason Kline and Jason Shrewsbury. The club is coached by Scott Gallagher and Habe Darr serves as assistant coach and club president.
