Our club

Lathrop Area Shooting Club (LASC) was formed in 2013. We are a 501(c)(3) charity youth Trapshooting team based in Lathrop, MO, a half hour northeast of Kansas City. LASC members include high school and middle school athletes and FFA members from Lathrop, Kearney, Lawson, Polo, Smithville, and surrounding communities. All interested youth shooters age 10 and older are encouraged to become LASC members.

LASC coaches are NRA certified. Our home range is Kansas City Trapshooters Association (KCTA), located at Smithville Lake. LASC members compete in registered Trapshoot competitions as an individual and as a team. We also do local fun shoots and practices.

LASC competes at the national, state and local levels as a member of AIM (Academics, Integrity, Marksmanship), Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP), and the Missouri Youth Sport Shooting Alliance (MYSSA). AIM is the official youth program of the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA). SCTP is the official youth program of the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF). MYSSA is a statewide organization that promotes all shooting opportunities, safety, leadership and training for Missouri's youth.

Our values

LASC values define who we are, how we operate and what we do.

Membership in LASC is contingent upon acceptance of club Terms & Conditions (T&C’s).
